Jerry was licensed as a real estate agent in the State of
Oregon in 1979. He attended the Norm Webb School of Real Estate in
Salem, Oregon. He received his broker’s license in 1984, and later
his principal broker’s license in 1990. He was associated with Duke
Warner Realty in Bend, Oregon until moving to Wallowa County in
1989. He has always been committed to the belief that the practice
of real estate is not about sales but all about service. Not just
before but after the sale as well. Jerry is a member of the
National Association of Realtors, the Oregon Association of
Realtors, and was past president of the Wallowa County Board of
Realtors. During his 32 years in the industry he has pursued
hundreds of hours of continuing education.
Previous to receiving his real estate license he had been engaged in
customer service related positions beginning with United Air Lines,
Sky Chef International as a dispatcher for in flight food service,
after college he worked as a proof of deposit supervisor for Wells
Fargo Bank in Foster City, CA. After which he worked in professional
property management in both Hawaii and California. He owned and
operated a small sheep ranch in Philomath, OR and later operated a
small animal boarding kennel. Jerry received his degrees in the
humanities and continued on in post graduate studies. He has spent most of his working career in customer service
with the past thirty-two years in the real estate industry.
He was born in Carmel, CA and was raised on the Monterey, CA
Peninsula where he often could be found as a youngster playing in
the tide pools and exploring the old buildings and piers of Cannery
Row. When not in school he accompanied his grandfather and uncle on
their respective commercial salmon fishing boats. His family later
moved to San Francisco to manage the family real estate. During his
summer vacations he lived with his uncle and aunt and cousins on
their cattle ranch, exploring the California hills on horseback,
learning about the care of livestock, fruit orchards, and all
general ranch responsibilities and chores. Jerry is still devoted
to outdoor pursuits in his spare time, and still finds time to be
engaged in continuous community services.
