MEET KAREN
I have been a realtor in California and Oregon for almost 30 years.
Many hours of classes and seminars, plus my many interests and
hobbies help to enhance my skills in the real estate industry.
Born in Riverside, California, I lived with my Grandmother up
to my Junior high school year. I then moved with my parents to
Guam, where I graduated high school. My father was in the Air Force
and we had the good fortune to vacation in Japan, China the
Philippines and Hawaii. After moving back to Riverside to care for
my ailing Grandmother, I began working for Pacific Telephone Company
as a long distance operator, and began building and driving stock
cars and drag racers with my husband. Sky Diving at Lake Elsinore
and riding motorcycles were other hobbies I participated in.
I moved to San Luis Obispo County and as a single parent worked
long hours to provide for my children. A change in careers occurred
and I found my niche in life, real estate. Assisting others in
finding and obtaining their dream properties evolved into a
long-term commitment. I worked toward and earned my broker’s license
in California and Oregon, plus received recognition for being
top listing and selling agent many times. I received valuable
experience while working for Prudential, Century 21, and Coldwell
Bankers Real Estate Companies, where I was also the key speaker at
many training seminars. In my spare time I would pack up my
children, dogs, horses and other neighborhood children and head for
the nearby beaches or mountains on camping trips. I was a docent at
Montana De Oro State Park, helping maintain trails for local
horseback riders and hikers. Other activities included serving as
president for the local woman’s trail riding Group “The Happy
Hoofers”. I was also a member of the California Cow Belles, the
state cattlewomen’s organization. I also enjoyed softball and was
the pitcher in a co-ed league for many years, plus acting as coach
for my children’s little league teams.
My husband, Danny Raminha, the son of a Morro Bay ranching family
had been visiting Wallowa County for many years, and the first time
he brought me to the county, I fell in love with not only the
beauty of the area, but also the warm friendly people. This was the
ideal place to call home. “It’s the kind of place that just keeps
pulling you back until you just have to be here full time”. In the
past 45 years Dan and I have made life long friends in the Wallowa
Valley.
My real estate experience and education is extensive and I have
earned the following coveted designations: GRI-Graduate Realtors
Institute. CRS-Council of Residential Specialist, and ABR-Accredited
Buyers Representative. I strive to keep up with the ever changing
world of real estate by attending as many different schools,
seminars and classes as possible. “Its only common sense to be able
to advise my clients on new laws and regulations”. I also keep my
California license current, and maintain a working relationship with
many California Brokers.
My husband Danny and I live on ten acres outside of Joseph, about 6
miles from Enterprise, Oregon. Dan is an avid hunter and
outdoorsman and we enjoy camping, horseback riding, hunting and
caring for our property. We usually run a few head of cows, and I
spend a lot of my free time in the summer gardening and caring for
my fish ponds. Winters, I enjoy curling up in front of a nice fire
and quilting or reading. I spent two years making 75 lap quilts for
our two nursing homes.
Organizations I belong to are: Oregon Cattle Women’s Association,
NRA, Wallowa County Quilt Guild, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation,
Eagle Cap Shooters Association, Women’s auxiliary of the VFW and I
am a member of Enterprise Christian Church.
When my son, Larry Senger’s Army unit deployed to Iraq four years
ago, I knew I'd be worried sick. I decided to be proactive and do my
part to help all of the county’s young men and women know that they
weren’t forgotten. I started Hometown Hero’s Support Group, and
started packaging about 30 boxes per month and sending them out to
our soldiers who were deployed. Now, four years later, I’m still
sending out those boxes, even with my son safely home.
At Real Estate Associates I strive to provide the quality of
service everyone is looking for and few find. I look forward to
assisting you with all of your real estate needs, and I promise to
provide you with kind, courteous and professional real estate
service with a high degree of integrity and honesty. I haven’t done
our job, if you haven’t exceeded your expectations.
