Having spent my entire life in Joseph, I couldn’t wait to leave after graduating from Joseph High School in 1994!  Being “from” here is different than wanting to live here.  I moved back to this area in 2010 after realizing what a truly great place this little valley is.  Having spent time in Las Vegas, Nevada working in concrete and commercial structures followed by ten years on the Big Island of Hawaii building custom homes, I longed to come back to where I was from.  This valley has changed little in my opinion.  Sure, there are no more timber mills and log trucks, but the mountains and the lake are just as I remember from my childhood.

My wife and I, along with our two dogs, enjoy hiking in the serenity of the Wallowa Mountains, camping along the peaceful Lostine River and swimming in beautiful Wallowa Lake whenever possible.  Come Chief Joseph Days, we volunteer at the rodeo.  And yes, that was me in the Wild Cow Milking Contest with my high school shop teacher as my partner.  It’s nice to belong somewhere, to get to know people and live a life surrounded by such beauty.  If you ever thought of being a part of this place, don’t wait any longer.  I’ll look forward to your call and helping you find what you’re looking for.
